History of Curry Automotive

Our history covers over eighty-five years of continued growth, progress, and service to many communities.

In 1921, B.F. Curry, Sr. founded our first automobile dealership in New York City. Under his guidance, this pioneer organization became one of the largest Chevrolet sales and service centers in the world. Shortly after World War II, Curry management investigated an entirely different concept of vehicle merchandising. In 1947, a firm now known as The Curry Corporation was founded for the purpose of leasing motor vehicles under long term agreements. Leasing, until this time a novelty, steadily drew public and commercial acceptance. Over the years and across the nation, tens of thousands of cars have been leased through The Curry Corporation. This company subsequently became headquarters for the Curry Automotive, and is located in Scarsdale, New York. In 1956, another dealership was constructed and opened. Located in Scarsdale, New York, this has ranked as one of the outstanding Chevrolet sales and service centers in Westchester county and New York State.

A year after the acquisition of a motorcycle franchise in 1975, another dealership was opened in Yorktown to meet the ever-increasing demand for import cars. The enterprise enjoyed immediate success and has become a major Honda dealership. In 1980, another major dealership facility was opened in Scarsdale, New York, for years; Scarsdale Dodge was one of the largest in the New York Zone.

In 1988, the Dodge franchise was terminated, the facility was totally renovated, and re-opened as Curry Acura. This has become one of the premier Acura dealerships in the nation.

In 1982, an expansive Honda sales and service center was opened in Chamblee, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta. This is now one of the largest and most successful Honda dealerships in the Southeast United States.

In 1985, another dealership was opened in Yorktown, New York. Curry Ford was soon recognized as a major Ford dealership, and Crompond Road in Yorktown began being identified as automobile row. Subaru was added in 1991.

In 1998, an exciting opportunity in Chicopee, Mass became a welcome addition to the family of dealerships. This Honda dealership is destined to be a leader in western Massachusetts. Subaru was added in 1999.

If you're shopping for a new Honda, Chevrolet, Acura, Subaru, Ford, a pre-owned vehicle or a certified used Honda, certified pre-owned Acura, certified pre-owned Chevrolet you need to look at our Hugh selection of cars & trucks.

CURRY AUTOMOTIVE SUPPORTS CAMPAIGN TO
BUILD MUSEUM FOR CHILDREN IN WESTCHESTER

Local Auto Dealer Devises Creative Fundraising Program to Benefit Westchester Children's Museum.

Bernard F. Curry III, CEO/owner, of Curry Automotive, together with Melissa Schoen,
President of the Westchester Children's Museum, announced today an unprecedented fundraising
partnership in which the Curry Auto Group will donate $50 for every car sold or leased at its
Westchester dealerships during the months of June and July, to the campaign to build a museum
for children in Westchester. The fundraising program officially launches on June 1, and
concludes on July 31, 2005. Curry has dealerships in Scarsdale and Yorktown Heights.

"Curry Automotive has been part of Westchester County since 1921, and my own family
has a history here that dates even further back. I believe that the value that a museum for children
can bring to Westchester County cannot be underscored, in terms of economic, social, and
educational impact," states Bernard F. Curry III. "I couldn't be more delighted to put the
Curry Automotive name behind this endeavor, and I hope that it will encourage other local Westchester
retailers, banks, developers, and businesses to find creative ways in which to give their support."
